Using the Digital Collections

Hi Everyone,

Well, it's been a strange 6 weeks, I've had the flu and then to top it off have had tonsillitis for the last week. And that's strange as normally I don't get sick for too long, guess I was a bit more run down than I thought....

Anyway, I have been making a few things here and there so over the next week I'll show them to you. I won't commit to how regular the posts will be, you may get 2 in a day, we're now on school holidays in WA so it'll be whenever I can get some peace to be on the computer lol :)

Today is all about using the Digital Collections. My last post for the ESAD Blog Hop showed 2 tote bags I made... It's all very easy really, I just printed out an A4 page of one of the digital papers I liked, traced my tote bag template onto it and whipped it up.

I printed the papers out just like I would a photo, using the program on my computer that probably came with the camera. No fancy tricks or programs at all... They all came out really lovely on our Whisper White cardstock.. So smooth, no colour runs either :)

Right off for the first movie of the holidays, Alice in Wonderland (the cartoon version). I remember watching this as a kid and now I get to share it with my girls - ♥ it!

ESAD Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the ESAD Blog Hop for the new annual catalogue! This is a super exciting blog hop for us as the new Idea Book and Catalogue is full of new ah-may-zing products!

What is ESAD?

ESAD stands for "Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators" and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin Up! demonstrators.

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors, but we share our love for what we do with each other as demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know-how, and cyberstamps, and we are always there to help and support each other when it is needed.

So if you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

If you have been following along the blog hop, you will have come from Kathryn's blog... If you are starting here, there's a full list of the blog hop at the bottom of this page, and each blog will have links to the next one.

So my projects today are actually what I showcased at the Perth Heartfelt Event a couple of weeks ago. I did give a sneak peek of this outfit on an earlier post this month but I've been saving the details for this blog hop! If you missed the post, there's a few other pics from the event here.

This first shirt has been made with the Floral District Fabric and the fabric adhesive. I love how easy it was to decorate this shirt, I added a flower cut using the Big Shot and the Flower Folds XL Die. The button in the centre is a self covering button from a shop that shall remain nameless but rhymes with "totnight"

Then of course, there was 2 other pieces of co-ordinating fabric left so I just had to make a skirt - with no pattern might I add (yes I'm a little proud of myself on this fact), and I still have 1 piece of fabric left over.

For this flower, I printed out one of the digital stamps from the Comfort Cafe Digital Collection and created a stencil from it. I traced the stencil onto the back of the fabric adhesive and cut out the shape with some super sharp scissors. Add a circle of felt (cut using the Circles #2 die) and one of the new Naturals Buttons handstitched onto the short.

And of course, every girl is going to need a matching headband right? This is another thing I've whipped up with no pattern. There's some elastic enclosed in headband to scrunch it up and make it stretchy.

Another new product I have been playing with is the new Digital Collections Disc. I'm lucky enough to have the "Comfort Cafe" & "Floral District" Discs (which accidently on purpose matches the fabrics I used above). I designed these little totes bags, they are just the perfect size for the tshirts to be folded/rolled up and placed inside.

Please let me know if you are interested in a template and I will make one up.

Well, that's it from me, if you go visit Jane's blog, you'll have some more projects to drool over be inspired by :)

My August Class

Hi Everyone,

I thought it must be about time I shared our creations from my August Classes. All cards were focussed on retired products, which of course are now gone, but hey, I figured it's still important to share what we made.

Using the "Loads of Love" Stamp Set and "Well Worn" Paper:

The now retired "Butterfly Punch" - I'm gonna miss this one, but on the other hand, the new butterfly punch is very nice, not to mention the Butterfly dies that carried over:

Using the "Tag" Punch - this card can actually be recreated as only 1 of the tag punches retired and the "Extra Large Tag" Punch is still available:

My next class is on Friday Sept 14th, so if you would like to join us, we are making Christmas Cards with a brand new stamp set! Please email me for more info if you are interested - stampingwithrichelle@iinet.net.au
