Stampin' Up Regionals Perth 2009

WOW!!! I had the best of best days yesterday (Although it was VERY tiring!!). I spent the day at Perth Regional Conference for Stampin' Up. Its the first time I've been and soo worth it! I learnt lots of new techniques, saw some sneak peeks of the new mini catty and some extra news on SU as a company. It was also a great opportunity to meet other demo's here in Perth and all over WA.

A big part of the day is the swaps. This is when we swap card fronts that we've made with other demos. I made 2 different swaps as I couldn't decide which I liked best. The first was a bright & colourful girly card made with the Garden Whimsy Stamp Set. The colours are Pink Passion, Orchid Opulence, Lovely Lilac and Whisper White.

My second swap is one of the cards used for my October Stamp 'n' Stacks. A simple, clean Christmas card usingthe Christmas Classics stamp set and only 2 colours. Or perhaps I should say a monochromatic (1 colour - Night of Navy) card with 1 neutral (Whisper White). The edges of the centre card pieces have been lightly distressed on all layers and the ribbon was tied through holes punched into the card with my double rectangle punch.

This is a pic of my haul of cards (and yes I do say haul because there are a lot!!) Thank you to everyone who swapped with me! :D There are some wonderful cards here and I will be casing a lot of them.

Throughout the day there were lots of presentations from SU staff, inc Bonnie from the USA (she was an absolute crackup... She was so funny and showed us some great colour wheel tips and techniques that I can't wait to try out.

We also heard from 6 great WA's demos inc one of my friends Andrea, with different workshop wows and I can't wait to show you some of these new techniques. Its a pity my daughter Charlotte doesn't sleep anymore during the day, I've lost my stamping time...Never mind, I'll fit some in somewhere! lol :)

All in all, it was a fantastic day and I can't wait to do it all over again next year lol :P

ps:  Did I mention one of the best parts was that my girls had a sleepover at their Nan's house on Friday night and when I picked them up yesterday, they already had tea & baths and they were so tired they fell asleep in the car on the way home, transferred them straight to bed all before 6.30pm! Which meant I could relax for the night, so much so I was in bed myself by 9pm -ahhhhh Thanks Mum!!!!!! :)

A card for a cowgirl...

Hi Everyone,

On Saturday, the girls and I went to a friend's 3rd b'day. She had a hoe-down theme for her party so the girls and I got dressed up in our denim skirts and shirts (I even had plaited pigtails). It was a real scorcher weather-wise with 35degrees so it was too hot for the planned overalls and boots. Anyway, this is a quick pic of the card I made (it was taken on my new mobile so its not the best quality but you can still get the idea of it). I cased the background layout from a card given to me by Lee-Anne, so thanks for the idea :)

Card: Regal Rose & Whisper White
Sweet Always Designer Series Paper
Hemp twine
And I don't normally do this but both the stamp sets I've used have retired :( They were the "Its your b'day" & "Bareback" sets)

Stamp 'n' Stack September

Hi Everyone,

Here's a pic of the 2 cards made at my Stamp 'n' Stack September. I've used the "Tree Trimmings" Stamp set from the Spring Mini Catty (avail until Nov 30th).

The centre bauble in Red has been stamped on a seperate piece of card, cut out and adhered with a pop out glue dot or a dimensional.
Card Stock: Garden Green & Very Vanilla

For this card, we sponged the Whisper White Craft Ink over a piece of Real Red for a frosted look to add a bit extra to the card.

World Card Making Day Promotion

Hi Everyone,

Things are busy in our house today with Charlotte turning 3 and a fairy party this arvo! I can hardly believe how quickly these last 3 years have gone! So today I'm just stopping by to tell you about a couple of great promos from Stampin' Up this month.

Firstly, to celebrate World Card Making Day, if you purchase a Simply Sent Card Elements kit, you can get 20% off the coordinating stamp set – and even better there's no limit if you want to buy more than 1!

The second promo is for any potential demonstrators... Its the Stampin' Up Breast Cancer Awareness Promotion

For over 20 years, Stampin' Up! has helped women make a difference in the lives of others by simply doing what they love to do--sharing creativity.
Now you too can become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and make a difference! For every person who joins the Stampin' Up! family between 7 October and 31 December 2009, we will donate $5 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (AU) or The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
Plus, until 31 December 2009, we'll give you a FREE pack of Raspberry Tart Designer Series paper and a Pretty in Pink Classic Stampin' Pad to help you get started!

So, if you would like any further info on either of these promos, please leave a comment or send me an email :)

And when all the fairies have left and the house has been restored to something resembling a neat house, I'm hoping to hit the craft room and have lots to show you over the coming week. Especially, seeing as my hubby has a week off so fingers crossed for a lot to be done both in the craft room, around the house and lots of things out and about in the forecasted sunshine this week!  Ahhh a girl can dream can't she :)
