Organic Grace Cards

Hi Everyone,

I thought I'd show you a pic of a flower that in my garden at the moment (a gladioli). This is the first time in 4yrs that its had this big a flower (I've only taken a pic of the top half as the other part had wilted!).. Last year I managed to chop the flower off with the hedge trimmer and so I moved it to a new spot where there will be no hedge trimming... lol

So after seeing this flower blooming over the last couple of weeks, I thought I'd better use the Organic Grace stamp set I've had in the cupboard for a little while (isn't it always the way..I had the best of intentions when I picked out this set to stamp more often but as usual time is too short!). Here's 2 cards I've made....

This card I actually demonstrated on the wkend at a workshop and added a little extra sponging around the whisper white card of the flower and word images and also sponged regal rose and old olive on the corresponding card... Amazing the difference it makes, so I will have to make another and post a pic for you to compare :)

Oh I should mention that the Organic Grace stamp set is 1 of the Level 1 hostess sets, and the words "To you from me' is 1 stamp from the Best yet stamp set, which is another hostess set.

Stampin' Up Regionals Perth 2009

WOW!!! I had the best of best days yesterday (Although it was VERY tiring!!). I spent the day at Perth Regional Conference for Stampin' Up. Its the first time I've been and soo worth it! I learnt lots of new techniques, saw some sneak peeks of the new mini catty and some extra news on SU as a company. It was also a great opportunity to meet other demo's here in Perth and all over WA.

A big part of the day is the swaps. This is when we swap card fronts that we've made with other demos. I made 2 different swaps as I couldn't decide which I liked best. The first was a bright & colourful girly card made with the Garden Whimsy Stamp Set. The colours are Pink Passion, Orchid Opulence, Lovely Lilac and Whisper White.

My second swap is one of the cards used for my October Stamp 'n' Stacks. A simple, clean Christmas card usingthe Christmas Classics stamp set and only 2 colours. Or perhaps I should say a monochromatic (1 colour - Night of Navy) card with 1 neutral (Whisper White). The edges of the centre card pieces have been lightly distressed on all layers and the ribbon was tied through holes punched into the card with my double rectangle punch.

This is a pic of my haul of cards (and yes I do say haul because there are a lot!!) Thank you to everyone who swapped with me! :D There are some wonderful cards here and I will be casing a lot of them.

Throughout the day there were lots of presentations from SU staff, inc Bonnie from the USA (she was an absolute crackup... She was so funny and showed us some great colour wheel tips and techniques that I can't wait to try out.

We also heard from 6 great WA's demos inc one of my friends Andrea, with different workshop wows and I can't wait to show you some of these new techniques. Its a pity my daughter Charlotte doesn't sleep anymore during the day, I've lost my stamping time...Never mind, I'll fit some in somewhere! lol :)

All in all, it was a fantastic day and I can't wait to do it all over again next year lol :P

ps:  Did I mention one of the best parts was that my girls had a sleepover at their Nan's house on Friday night and when I picked them up yesterday, they already had tea & baths and they were so tired they fell asleep in the car on the way home, transferred them straight to bed all before 6.30pm! Which meant I could relax for the night, so much so I was in bed myself by 9pm -ahhhhh Thanks Mum!!!!!! :)

A card for a cowgirl...

Hi Everyone,

On Saturday, the girls and I went to a friend's 3rd b'day. She had a hoe-down theme for her party so the girls and I got dressed up in our denim skirts and shirts (I even had plaited pigtails). It was a real scorcher weather-wise with 35degrees so it was too hot for the planned overalls and boots. Anyway, this is a quick pic of the card I made (it was taken on my new mobile so its not the best quality but you can still get the idea of it). I cased the background layout from a card given to me by Lee-Anne, so thanks for the idea :)

Card: Regal Rose & Whisper White
Sweet Always Designer Series Paper
Hemp twine
And I don't normally do this but both the stamp sets I've used have retired :( They were the "Its your b'day" & "Bareback" sets)

Hi Everyone,

Card Stock: Garden Green & Very Vanilla
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Garden Green and Basic Black

For this card, we sponged the Whisper White Craft Ink over a piece of Real Red for a frosted look to add a bit extra to the card.

World Card Making Day Promotion

Hi Everyone,

Things are busy in our house today with Charlotte turning 3 and a fairy party this arvo! I can hardly believe how quickly these last 3 years have gone! So today I'm just stopping by to tell you about a couple of great promos from Stampin' Up this month.

Firstly, to celebrate World Card Making Day, if you purchase a Simply Sent Card Elements kit, you can get 20% off the coordinating stamp set – and even better there's no limit if you want to buy more than 1!

The second promo is for any potential demonstrators... Its the Stampin' Up Breast Cancer Awareness Promotion

For over 20 years, Stampin' Up! has helped women make a difference in the lives of others by simply doing what they love to do--sharing creativity.
Now you too can become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and make a difference! For every person who joins the Stampin' Up! family between 7 October and 31 December 2009, we will donate $5 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (AU) or The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
Plus, until 31 December 2009, we'll give you a FREE pack of Raspberry Tart Designer Series paper and a Pretty in Pink Classic Stampin' Pad to help you get started!

So, if you would like any further info on either of these promos, please leave a comment or send me an email :)

And when all the fairies have left and the house has been restored to something resembling a neat house, I'm hoping to hit the craft room and have lots to show you over the coming week. Especially, seeing as my hubby has a week off so fingers crossed for a lot to be done both in the craft room, around the house and lots of things out and about in the forecasted sunshine this week!  Ahhh a girl can dream can't she :)

Urban Garden Gift Set

Hi Everyone,

Here's a set of 2 cards and matching box I taught at a workshop on the wkend...

The stamped verse says "You only live once but if you do it right, once is enough"

I've used the Urban Garden Designer Papers; Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Whisper White and Not Quite Navy card and ink. The flowers are all from the Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set and I've also added white grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals to make the cards 'pop' and a filagree brad on the last card.

The box is deep enough to fit 5 cards + envelopes so it would be a great gift idea & I'm going to make some ready for Christmas.

If you would like any further info, please email me or leave a comment :)

Fairy Punch Art

Hi All,
This is a busy time in Stampin' with Richelle land cos here's another post! Woohoo!! I'm sure I'm setting some records this week. lol :)
Ok, I've been trying all week to use Makeesha's Inkspirations Colour Challenge #12 and whilst I've had a few ideas, the 1 I'm about to show you is my favourite!!

I've been doing some searching for a fairy picture to use on Charlotte's 3rd b'day invites and came across this punch art fairy on a blog and I've traced the idea back to Samantha. I've changed the colours of my fairy to suit Makeesha's colour challenge. And I've used different sized circles for my fairy's head and body, and using the small circle punch, I've given my fairy a headband... awww......I've also doubled my fairy's wings and then covered them in dazzling diamonds.

And here's a pic of the card from the side so you can see my faux embossing of the regal rose love hearts...

Now the task is to make a whole heap of these over the wkend to hand out to Charlotte's friends. Maybe I will be able to rope in Lee to help with the punching out.

Hope you like my fairy as much as I do!! And if you would like any more details, please email me or leave a comment.  :D

Mojo Monday #103

Hi,

Here's a quick card I made for Mojo Monday #103.... I cased the idea for the tree from a video tutorial on a rare trip to Youtube on the weekend. Here's the link if you are interested.

Obviously, my folding technique needs a little more practice to become neater and crisper, but I just was so excited to actually create a mojo monday card within a day of the challenge being posted!
Very unlike me! lol :)

Menu Toolbar

Hi All,

After a bit of fiddling around, I think I've got a small menu toolbar working across the top of my blog... You'll have to excuse several extras posts today but I couldn't seem to set up the toolbar without posting these extras...
Over the coming weeks, I hope to expand it with more options so check back soon and let me know what you think :)

And I've also (hopefully) added a link where you can subscribe to my blog... Or you can email a particular post to a friend by clicking on the little envelope icon at the bottom of each post.

Fingers double crossed this all works!!!! Lol

A little mojo this Father's Day

Hi Everyone, Happy Father's Day!! I was trying to do a timed post today, but seeing as hubby is still in bed I thought I'd check my blog and thus found out it hadn't worked.... mmmm more reserach required lol Anyway, this is 1 of 3 cards I needed to make this year for Father's Day. I've dusted off an old stamp set called Loads of Love and combined it with some Baja Breeze & Whisper White card and some matching Designer series papers. The layout is from Mojo Monday. I've also used some dimensionals to raise the truck image off the card and absolutely loved the convenience of my snail adhesive for sticking all the 1" squares down lol :)

Stamp Camp Swaps

A couple of weekends ago, I was given a day pass away from the family to go to a stamp camp arranged by another S/Up demo, Andrea. I could only go for a day BUT it was a whole day of stamping and swapping cards with the other ppl on camp. I invited Mum to come along too so it was a good chance to chat with her and the other ladies at the camp. Our pre-camp challenge was to create a showbox swap which is where we have to design a card and then have the kits and everything avail for anyone else to make at the camp. This is a quick pic of some of the swaps

And this is the swap that I made...

The bauble image in the middle (on the Very Vanilla card) spins round... Hence the 2 photos to show you each side. The Real Red bauble is outlined with Dazzling Diamonds and is mounted on Dimensionals. It proved to be a popular card on the day, which I was very astonished at but very pleased as I had serious doubts about the card all week before! Stamps used: "Tree Trimmings" $24.95 from the Spring Mini Catty "Best yet" - Hostess Rewards 2009-10 "Its Beautiful" Wheel Card: Handsome Hunter, Real Red & Very Vanilla.... I love my traditional Chrissy colours :) Oh, and you may notice that I've also been playing and created my 'watermark' for all my photos... Just trying to keep up with the trends and also promote myself some more (or some ppl call it blowing my own horn lol).

My Spring Mini THANK YOU!!

Hi Everyone, Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that was able to attend my inaugral Spring Mini Catalogue Launch Party on Sat... I hope you all enjoyed yourselves as I sure did :) For those that weren't able to make it, I thought I'd show you some pics of what we made... These cards and the little box were all stamped with the Forest Friends Set (at only $24.95 its a bargain but bursting with cute!! ~ lol) Anyway, this is the set that all my guests walked away with: This card was CASED from the Spring Mini Catalogue but I did make 3 changes... 1) the word 'friends' 2) the ribbon 3) the flower brad This card I designed myself and we used the lace eyelet punch.. What a great way to add a little extra details and like all the S/Up punches, its so easy to use! This little box was filled with goodies and is a perfect fit for storing the little notecards we made. The ribbon to open the box is simply looped through a jumbo eyelet (set by my crop-a-dile - what a splurge but oh so handy!!! see page 155 of your 2009-10 IBC) The idea for the box was from Lee-Anne, when she showed me how to make a 'pizza box' for notecards (it was quite a while ago, but I still have my tart & tangy box and cards Lee-Anne! And I still luv it) And these were 2 extra cards I designed as I was so in the zone last week. I was feeling a little blah lately but this project has given me a boost and a timely reminder that I can be creative and productive! Being a stay at home mum you sometimes forget there is a person behind all the washing and cleaning lol :P
If you would like to have a go at making these cards, I am happy to offer them as a lesson, just email me and we can work out the details.

Well I had a great afternoon with some of my S/Up demo friends today.. Thanks girls :D
Anyway this is a pic of my swap card for the day... Lee-Anne set us the challenge of using Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Kiwi Kiss and Red Riding Hood. I wasn't sure where to start with these colours but am pretty happy with the final result!
First of all I had this, which I wasn't very happy with...
So I stepped my card by added a some extra layers of card, some shading and changed the size of the card to make:

Baby Bundles

Hi All, Lately I've taken to reading a website by Andrea Walford, a Canadian S/Up demo... One of the recent tutorials was for a baby card and this is version I made.

I've used a stencil cutter for the oval shape and my S/Up circle punch to make the face. The card colour is Ballet Blue and I've sponged the clouds in Whisper White ink. The face and highlights have been freehand with the Black S/Up marker and I've added a little Crystal Effects too.

Now don't go too far, as there's more S/Up news to come! I've just used up my quota of tv entertainment for the girls this morning so I'm off to play mum for a while - lol :) Thanks for looking, Richelle
