What we made at the April Class

Hi Everyone,

Did you think I'd forgotten you all? No of course I didn't! I've been busy behind the scenes lately and also my internet has been playing up!!

I've been doing some more sorting out of my craft space, just a tweak here and there in the room that was formerly our loungeroom. I really should take some pics to show you shouldn't I. Well that might be on the cards (get it? :P) for today.... If the light is ok, it's looking like another wet, rainy day here in Perth - LOVELY crafting weather, shame the 2 and 4yo don't understand that fully just yet!!

Now I realised the other day that I have to show you what we made at the April Class and tomorrow I'll show you what we made at the May Class.

Ok, so here's what we made in April, it was my Mother's Day class:

(I made a co-ordinating card and sent an album off to my ESAD Easter Secret Sister, I hope she liked it!)

I followed a tutorial from splitcoast stampers for building album.

The papers are from the current Stampin' Up! Catalogue and are called "Love Letter", and the colours are Riding hood red, basic black and very vanilla. All the butterflies have been cut with my Beautiful Wings die and my Big Shot!

Recap of a busy wkend.....

Hi everyone,

Well what a busy wkend we've had here! On Friday, we headed down south to Busselton for my sister's wedding. It was also the Stampin' Up! National Convention and UnConvention over on ESAD.

Obviously I wasn't off to Melbourne for Convention, so I joined in as much of the UnConvention activities as I could. this meant joining in the challenges on Thursday and a online scavenger hunt on Friday morning (when I should have been checking everything was packed to go).... It was joining in the hunt, was worth it though as I won! Lol!!

Ok, one of the challenges on Thursday was set by yours truly, and it was to recreate this little box:

If you would like to learn in person how to make it, I just might be teaching it at my class next Friday. Otherwise, the tutorial can be found here.

A couple of other challenges were:

- A monochromatic card: (where you need to use 1 colour but as many shades as you like). I was getting the blues with all blue, it just wasn't working for me, so a touch of very vanilla was added....

- A sketch challenge:

- A punch art challenge:

Well, I hope to find time to have a go at the remaining challenges but who knows when I'll have a chance:

Other than stamping....

Hi Everyone,

Over the wkend, I finished off quite a few different sewing projects I've had on the go...

This was one of them....

One for each of my daughters - Charlotte & Emily

They measure about 35cm wide & 32cm deep, so it's not bad for a pattern free project and made from remnants! :)

These bags had been waiting for some time for the straps to be sewn on! Ahhhh well, it's done now :)

A new card design...

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday, I snaffled a bit of card making time whilst my girls were supposedly 'resting' after lunch (one did sleep, and the other was a wriggle bum and kept getting up and down). During this short time I managed to complete a card for the Unscripted and Stampin' Royalty challenges.

I wanted to add some piercing to the card but decided it may clutter it too much (well that and I couldn't find my paper piecer within arms reach and didn't look anywhere further as I was being lazy!! lol!!)

A couple more Mother's Day Cards

Hi Everyone,

This is a scheduled post cos I'm hoping for a sleep-in today!

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mums out there! I don't think we truly understand what being a mum entails until we are one!!

So here's a few more Mother's Day Cards I've made for our Mums:

This one is for my Mum

This was a custom order (it's got a gift voucher inside)

Here's the gift voucher inside - adhered with my glue pen so it can be taken out and used with my hairdresser friend

Hope you Mum's get to put your feet up today and forget about the housework.... Just for a day anyway :)

My latest project!

Hi Everyone,

I haven't been stamping very much this week, and this is my reason: I have started playing with fabric and my big shot!! Ohh la la it makes cutting fabric so easy, I have only tried the scallop square die so far, but loved it!

Well, enough of my yabbering, this is my first attempt at a scallop square bag:

Front View

I added a little pocket at each end
I still need to add in a clasp or loop at the top, any suggestions? At the moment I'm thinking a big hot pink button with a fabric loop....

I have a 2nd bag half ready to go but I needed to make some more mother's day cards today, so the sewing machine had to be packed away. Hopefully over the next couple of days, I will get that one finished too! :)

Oh and this is going to be my entry for the ESAD 3D challenge this week. If you are a Stampin' Up! demo in Australia or New Zealand, make sure you join ESAD, it's an invaluable source of chatter and information :)

Another Cottage Garden card to share

Hi Everyone,

I'm making a big effort this week to show you how versatile the Cottage Garden stamp set is and get some ink on this set! So here's another card to share with you:

And did you notice, I've used some different colours!! Peach Parfait, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla and So Saffron... Don't they make a yummy combination!!

And a little bling was added with the forever faithful duo of Dazzling diamonds and a glue pen. :)

Yay, finally got some stamping time tonight

Hi Everyone,

Ever had one of those days when you want to do something and so many things have to be done first!! Well I finally got to do some stamping tonight, but of course, the mojo I had earlier today had twindled and it's taken me forever to get this card made!!

I've used the Cottage Garden stamp set, the Just Add Ink and Stampin' Royalty challenges for this week and created this card:

I'm not 100% happy with it, but hey, you can't win them all can you....

And the Stampin' Royalty Challenge closes tonight....

Don't forget, you can pick up the wood mount Cottage Garden  set for 40% off this week!! See this post for the details or email me.

Thanks for looking,

Last week....

Hi Everyone,

Last week we had a couple of well received rainy days here in Perth! Anyway, here's a quick snap of what my girls got up to late one afternoon....

Ah yes, the joy of a couple of stamps, couple of ink pads and some paper even hits my 2 littlies ;)

They were well behaved too, keeping the ink pads clean by passing them to me to be cleaned between each colour - what good little munchkins! :)

Come and join in the ESAD Autumn/Winter Mini Catty Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

Today is the day for the ESAD Blog Hop for the new Mini Catty!! I'm excited to be sharing my "Eat Chocolate" creation with you and there's also a little something for you too! :)

So settle back and prepare to taste a little of the creative world of Stampin' Up! here in Australia and New Zealand.

You may be just starting your hop or you may have come from Kim's blog, so you may or may not have already seen the explanation:

What is ESAD?
ESAD stands for Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators and it is an online group just for Australian and New Zealand demonstrators for Stampin’ Up!

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors but we share our love for what we do with each other as Demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know how and cyberstamps and we are always there to help and support each other when its needed.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand then please feel free to click
here to join our wonderful group.

Now, onto my creations:

My clean and simple card:
Don't you love the sentiment ~ "I would give up chocolate, but I'm no quitter!"
I've cut the sentiment and the backing chocolate chip card stock by freehand so don't look too closely lol :)

And my "piece da resistance":

My Easter Choccy Box:

This is a box that I have designed myself. I have also made my own patterned card stock by stamping the "So much chocolate so little time!" sentiment randomly all over my very vanilla card stock. And of course, I have to use chocolate chip ink and chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon.

You can see some more samples made with Designer Series Paper here that I had ready for Easter on this previous post. If anyone is interested in re-creating this box, please email me as I am in the process of writing a tutorial for you and would love to email it to you.

The next stop on the blog hop is Kayleigh's blog.

In summary, there's 16 demonstrator's taking part and here's the entire list for you.... Everyone has a link from & to each blog so you can easily hop from one to the next and do a 'blog lap' at your leisure. If you can make the time to leave a comment for each or even some, I know we would all love to hear from you!

What the Easter Bunny brought...

Hi Everyone,

Thought you may like to see the little bunny baskets that the Easter Bunny (aka me) delivered to our house on the wkend.

He also delivered one for my nephew, but this person I know (aka me again) forgot to take a pic of it before it was delivered.

And there just may be more details posted about these baskets on Saturday when I take part in the ESAD Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue Blog Hop.... So make sure you come round and have a looksie :)

Hi Everyone,

It's been a long time since I've taken part in a Just Add Ink Challenge but here's a quick post with this week's challenge to "Just Add Mateship/ Friendship".

There's a mixture of old and new Stampin' Up! Products used and a touch of contraband product, (I used my nest-a-bilities for the plain and scalloped ovals).

But it does showcase how verstaile the Big Shot is! The square lattice embossing folder has been used for the background. The Beautiful Wings embosslits die for the butterflies - this cuts 5 butterflies in 1 go! And yes, the nesties went through the Big Shot too!
