JAI #72 Entry

Hi All,

A second quick post tonight, this time to enter the Just Add Ink Challenge #72 where we needed to add colouring in!!

My daughter's b'day invites fit this challenge perfectly, with just a touch of colouring added in.

The photo isn't the best for this, taken at night on my phone camera... NOT recommended but all the invites have been sent and I don't have any spares.... Oh, and the blurred part was just the address....

Yay, finally got some stamping time tonight

Hi Everyone,

Ever had one of those days when you want to do something and so many things have to be done first!! Well I finally got to do some stamping tonight, but of course, the mojo I had earlier today had twindled and it's taken me forever to get this card made!!

I've used the Cottage Garden stamp set, the Just Add Ink and Stampin' Royalty challenges for this week and created this card:

I'm not 100% happy with it, but hey, you can't win them all can you....

And the Stampin' Royalty Challenge closes tonight....

Don't forget, you can pick up the wood mount Cottage Garden  set for 40% off this week!! See this post for the details or email me.

JAI #65

Hi Everyone,

It's been a long time since I've taken part in a Just Add Ink Challenge but here's a quick post with this week's challenge to "Just Add Mateship/ Friendship".

There's a mixture of old and new Stampin' Up! Products used and a touch of contraband product, (I used my nest-a-bilities for the plain and scalloped ovals).

But it does showcase how verstaile the Big Shot is! The square lattice embossing folder has been used for the background. The Beautiful Wings embosslits die for the butterflies - this cuts 5 butterflies in 1 go! And yes, the nesties went through the Big Shot too!

A Robot... and it's Pink!

Hi Everyone,

Today I've pieced together a monochrome card for the Just Add Ink's challenge this week....

As Miss 2 stated "Robot" and knew what colour "Pink" when she saw the card, I think I managed to fit the theme. Ahh yes, monosyllables too, it's like her own version JAI's theme lol :)

So here's my card:

Short and simply post from me today... I've got another card to show you, so hopefully (children willing) I will be back later today to show you :)

JAI # 49 - Just Add Summer

Hi Everyone,

I'm a day late with this post, but that's the thing about holidays - you get distracted and lose track of what day it is!

I've been playing around with some punch art characters yesterday and late into last night (in between dealing with a rush trip the our local after hours GP with Miss 4 (who has an ear infection for the first time EVER!)) and this is one card I made with the Just Add Ink #47 Challenge to Just Add Summer.

Of course, by the time I'd actually finished it, the challenge had closed :(

By the way, this is in no way a punch art self portrait... Well, maybe if you squint and pretend she's dancing it may be...I love to dance and summer time is always full of parties!! I just wish I could get out to more, but that's not my role at the moment as a mum!! Oh, and I don't have red hair either! :P

Another Blog Hop link for you

Hi All,

Today I found this blog hop by the Just Add Ink team....

Make sure you check it out!!!

Here's the link : Just Add Ink Blog Hop

And don't worry, I haven't forgotten how to stamp, it's just been busy round here and Miss 4 has been acting up at nearly every bedtime! So that means I can't escape to my stamping room each night as that's next door to her room.... I'm seriously contemplating making myself some kits today whilst hubby is home that I can pull out and make at the kitchen table this coming week.

Soft and pastel with Just Add Ink's 40th Challenge

Hi Everyone,

Last night I found some cardmaking mojo and managed to make a few cards I'll show over the next few days....

Each card is for a different challenge and that's why I'm going to space them out.

So this card for the the Just Add Ink Challenge #40 - I can't believe they are up to #40 already!!

We needed to use these colours:

And this is my card:

I've used one of the girl images from "Kimono Kids" and I have to confess my 'Pear Pizzazz' card is still on order so I have substituted with 'Certainly Celery'.

Please let me know what you think and if you would like to join in the challenge, you have until midnite  Wednesday (but remember that's Eastern time + daylight savings, so if you are in Perth, you have until 9pm tomorrow night).

JAI #38 - Second Entry

Hi All,

I hope you didn't fall off your chair to see me with another post so quickly.... lol :)

Anyway, I saw Gardenia Pepworth's cheeky card the other day and she challenged me (via facebook) to make one too... Make sure you pop by her blog sometime - there's loads of inspiration there!

So here's my attempt:

And seeing as its matched the "add pink and bling" criteria, I've entered it into the Just Add Ink Wk #38 Challenge

Right, that's it from me today :)

JAI #38 - Just add pink & bling

Hi All,

Today is the last day to enter the Just Add Ink Week 38 Challenge where the challenge is to add pink and bling.

I borrowed Andrea's stamp set Flower Fancy after our team training day and this is one of the cards I made:

I've combined some retired rose red ribbon, a filigree flower brad and a small clear rhinestone brad to add a little extra to my card. The large flower is raised up on a couple of dimensionals.

I've cased the layout from an old Stampin' Up! idea book - I should refer back to it more as I was all inspired to make another card with the same layout but different colours:

Just Add Ink - Just Add Wheels

Hi Everyone,

Here's a super quick but really effective card using one of the Jumbo wheels and a little bit of ink...

The challenge this week at Just Add Ink was to use a wheel somehow on your card... I decided I would use an actual Stampin' Up wheel, in this card its the Friendly Words Jumbo Wheel. I've inked my wheel with Black Staz-on ink, rolled onto a strip of white glossy card then sponged So Saffron and Riding Hood Red all over it. Add a little bit of ribbon and some card punched with the eyelet punch and voila, an easy card ready to go.

Ok, I'll be back with more later on today (hopefully! the girls are a little restless on this wintery day here in Perth).

My JAI #29 entry

Hi Everyone,

Over the weekend, I managed to get some card making done... I gave one card away before I photographed it -oops! but I did take a picture of my Just Add Ink entry for this week's challenge.

Challenge #29 is to use these colours:

And this is my entry:

Now I didn't mean to have my badge over this card twice, but somehow it is, I think my computer is simply getting too old and kept freezing when I use my photo editing program. And I'm too impatient! lol :P

I held my father's day class on Saturday, so I'll post some pics of what we made later on too.

I'm back with JAI #28 this time!

Hi again,

I also had a go at this week's Just Add Ink Challenge to use these colours and create a man's card:

And this is my card:

Hope you like both my cards tonight... I was happy to get some stamping done in amongst the housework...

JAI Challenge #25 - 2nd entry

Me again.... Wow this is 3 posts now today! Amazing the little extras you can get done when the kids are distracted by dad being home from work on holidays.

Ok, this card I started using the sketch challenge from Makeesha Byl and the colour challenge from Just Add Ink as well (see my previous post for the colour challenge details or pop over and see it at the JAI site)

Now I don't know if it really qualifies, I've ended up with an extra stripe but still wanted to show it to you.

So this is the card:

I've run the card pieces through the crimper (some horizontally and some vertically), then distressed each piece and popped in a few brads. The robot (from Lots of Bots from the autumn mini catty) has been coloured with my aqua painter and soft suede, rose red and elegant eggplant ink pads.

Back with a challenge entry

Hi Everyone,

Well, I have been waiting all morning for a dry and non-windy spell to take some photos of my cards outside but alas no such luck.... So this photo has been taken near my big sliding door which lets in loads of natural light...

This week's Just Add Ink challenge #25 is to use this colour combo....

I wasn't sure about this, I really don't use soft suede very much at all.....

So, this was one of 2 cards I made on the weekend...

Now, you've seen the card, I'll let you in on a secret - I chopped it down to a smaller size as I just couldn't pick a sentiment to go with it, everything seemed to overpower the detail of the tree.... So the final size of the card is roughly 10x11cm.
The tree is from the Forest Friends set from a past mini catty and I've coloured it with my ink pads and aqua painter.

And I'll be back soon with my second entry.

A little bit of patchwork...

Hi Again,

I'm back with another JAI entry and I've made my first ever patchwork card with my Big Shot and the Top note die.

What do you think? This card was remarkably easy to make.. In fact taking the photo outside was probably harder than making the card as it kept blowing over!! But the clarity of the photo is so much better than taking it inside! I've kept the card clean and simple as I really wanted the patchwork to be the focus point of the card.

I've got another couple to finish off and I'll post the pics later in the week.

Materials Used
Big Shot & Top Note Die
1 1/4" square punch
Word Window Punch
Small circle punch
Hemp Twine
Paper - Urban Garden Designer Series Paper
Sentiment: Sweet Little Sentiments Hostess Set

JAI Challenge #23 - First Entry

Hi Everyone,

I've been quiet here for a couple of days, I think, no make that I know I've been exhausted and everyone in our house is fighting off a cold - yuck!

Anyway, I've had a go at this week's Just Add Ink Challenge #23, which was to "Just Add Patterned Paper"

I've made this page and used an 11x14" silver frame from a local 'el cheapo' shop. I will have to get busy with the camera now and take some new pics of my girls.. I couldn't find one that suited the frame to my liking...

Materials Used
Petal Party Scrappin' Kit
On Board 'So Tweet' (covered with old olive paper for the branch and coloured the bird with my pink passion stampin' spot and the black marker)
Wing from 2-step bird punch for the bird's wing and the leaves

Emily's Birthday Invites & Card

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday was my youngest daughter Emily's 2nd b'day and I thought I'd show you the invites that were sent out for her party.

Materials Used:
Stamp Set: Pony Party & On Your Birthday
Cardstock: Whisper White, Green Galore, Pink Passion
Stampin' Write Markers: Orchid Opulence, Pink Passion, Green Galore & Yoyo Yellow
Ink: Black Staz-on & Pink Passion
Big Shot & Top Note die

And this is the card I made for her... I picked the colours from the Just Add Ink Challenge last week, but then but I missed the deadline as I was dead on my feet last night after having a party and then the clean up so I needed an early night and forgot to post the pic... Silly me! Fancy washing dishes instead of stamping and blogging!

The JAI Challenge was to use these colours:

I created the background by punching a couple of scallop circles and temporarily adhereing them to my Whisper White card with my SNAIL adhesive. I also tore wavy line on a piece of scrap paper, this created a mask so I could create a more defined edge between the sky and the grass. I then sponged Tempting Turquoise ink over the top third of the card. After removing all the scallop circles and rubbing away any left over adhesive with my adhesive remover (just $3.95), I flipped the scrap paper 'hill' over to cover the sky and sponged the remaining white card with my Kiwi Kiss ink.

The Pony has been coloured with my Aqua Painter and the mane, tail and wings have been covered in Dazzling Diamonds.

Materials Used:
Card/ Inks: Colours as above
Aqua Painter
Tempting Turquoise & Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon
Dimensionals
Large Oval and Scallop Oval Punch
Scallop Circle Punch
Glue Pen
Dazzling Diamonds

If you would like to create birthday cards or invites, please contact me and I will be happy to assist any way I can. I can even design and produce them for you if you'd prefer!

See I told you....

....that I would be back with another JAI Challenge #17 entry!! This time its more watercolouring and I really really love this card.... Especially seeing as most of the card was a leftover kit from a Stamp 'n' Stack a few months ago. I'm still on my mission to use my scraps up!!!

Here's my card

And here's a close up of the colouring... Not bad hey!  Sea Foam
I was super stoked at the shading I managed on the flower pot!!

JAI Challenge #17

Hi Everyone,

Its time for this week's Just Add Ink Challenge... This week is #17 and we needed to "Just Add.... A technique from the Blog Hop" the Design Team has presented on each of their blogs as tutorials.

I have been practicing my watercolouring with my aqua painter and although there's a couple of mistakes on this card, I still really like it!!!

And I've also stamped directly onto some Designer series paper (ok, so its not an image on the paper but at least I didn't layer up the sentiment like I normally would!  Cotton Candy

Well, I should be back soon with more... I know me, I just can't leave it at one entry especially not with all these techniques!!!!
