Father's Day Cards

Hi Everyone,

The last couple of days not included, but I've been a bit slack over the last few weeks with updating my blog.... I realised I hadn't even shown you some of the father's day cards I made, so here they are (just in case you didn't see them in my facebook album):

The origami style shirts were inspired by this page http://stampingjo.com/category/fathers-day-ideas/

We made men's cards!!

Hi Everyone,

At my June class on Friday night, we made mens' cards!! Obviously I'm not the only one who sometimes struggles to make these as this was a requested theme!

We made 3 of each of the following:

If you would like to join in the next class, it's on 1st July and we'll be following a Christmas in July Theme. Please email me for more information (Classes are held in Thornlie, WA).

Hi Everyone,

My latest card to show you is one of several I'm making to donate to Crafty Mumma's Supporting Men's Health.

I thought I'd make some mens' cards as it's something many of us card makers struggle with! I dug out my "Bareback" stamp set (retired) and made this card:

I've used my crimper to create the textured strips of card, I simply ran the card through at 2 different angles.

If you're in WA, enjoy the long wkend!! I have a list of things to do about a mile and a half long, nearly all of which is going to be delayed this morning as I'm off to visit my parents and one of my grandparents who came out of hospital yessterday.

Clean and simple for Dad's B'day

Hi Everyone,

There's nothing like leaving things til almost the last minute is there? lol. Tonight I remembered I'd better make a b'day card for my Dad's birthday tomorrow. He's turning .... nah I'd better not say..

Anyway, I've been trying to think of something to make for him for a while and realised that the Clean and Simple Sketch would work.

This is my card:

I've used chocolate chip ink and clear embossed the sentiment. I'm loving my embossing at the moment! The designer series paper is actually some retired Christmas papers...

Extra Father's Day Cards

Hi Everyone,

Wow, I didn't realise I hadn't posted anything new for nearly a week! Oops! Guess I was too excited about the new Idea Book release last week and preparing for my Launch last Friday night.

Anyway, I have 2 cards to show that I made with Father's Day in mind... Didn't end up using them as used some other cards I showed you here.

Well, this week I'm busy making as many cards as I can to swap with other Demonstrators this Saturday at the Stampin' Up! Regional Conference!! It will be the 2nd time I've attended and whilst I'm excited, I'm not as nervous as I was last year lol :)

Look for me in my "Stampin' With Richelle" t-shirt (if it's warm enough)...

Stamp and Stack Fathers Day Class

Hi All,

Just a quick post today, to show what we made on the weekend at my Father's Day Class.

I designed the card for the Helping Hudson Challenge #1 last week, so you probably saw it here. However, I have to tell you about this box. It's so easy to make, I followed the tutorial on Marelle Taylor's blog, and 'blokeyfied' it by using Close to Cocoa Designer Series Paper and Card. My guests all had the choice of stamping several images over the box before adhering it but I choose to leave all mine plain.

A tutorial for the bow on the top of the box can be found here, they are a little fiddly but once you've done a couple, I think they become easier and easier - and you'll never need to buy a bow again! lol

Materials Used
Stamp Set: Loads of Love, Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Weathered
Close to Cocoa Designer Series Paper
Very Vanilla & Close to Cocoa Cardstock
Black Ink
Close to Cocoa Ink
Button from my stash
Blender Pen
Close to Cocoa & Mellow Moss Stampin' Write Markers

I also had a go at this week's Just Add Ink Challenge to use these colours and create a man's card:

And this is my card:

Hope you like both my cards tonight... I was happy to get some stamping done in amongst the housework...

Clean and simply birthday

Hi All,

Here's another card using the Birthday Block stamp, but this is for the boys or men...

Please excuse the photography.. Its been very wet here in Perth and I've been unable to take any photos outside in the daylight.

I've kept this card really clean and simple and only added a little colouring with my markers directly onto the stamped image - I've coloured 4 words and the candle to match the cardstock.

Materials Used:
Stamp Set: Birthday Block
Cardstock: Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise and Garden Green
Stampin' Write Markers: Garden Green & Tempting Turquoise
Tempting Turquoise Ribbon
Basic Black Ink pad

Well off for some birthday present shopping today and then to play with another stamp set tonight, mmm which to choose? You'll have to come back and see tomorrow.

Happy B'day Dad!

Hi All,

This card is for my Dad's b'day (do I tell you how old he is today? ok, I will, he's 49).

I pulled out my Seeing Spots stamp set as I've hardly used it and I've come up with the following card...

The colours are Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Summer Sun and Whisper White. I really like this colour combo so hopefully I can get back to my crafting desk to do more with it soon!

If you are interested in learning how to make some men's cards, why not come along to my next class on 13th Feb. It's all about making mens cards! You'll be able to make 9 cards for $20 (3 cards of 3 different designs) and this card will be one of them. Email me for more info if you are interested in joining in.

Stars in my eyes

Hi Everyone,

Ok, now I do have 2 cards to show you as I promised yesterday but first I thought I'd try to explain my lateness for this post (seeing as I was going to post these pics yesterday!).... I have been working on a newsletter template so those that have signed up to receive my newsletter will get one soon and I'm going to find out how to put a button on my blog to sign up for my newsletter - you can already sign up for the blog updates.. And I've also added a decent header onto my blog.... Look up and you'll see "Stampin' with Richelle' is a proper little picture now and not just plain old writing.

Anyway, the other reason for not making many cards lately is the state of my desk.... Ummmm a picture speaks a 1000 words so here goes:

And I hate to admit it, but its over the floor too...

Right so, amongst a million other things, my New Year's Resolution is to keep my stamping area a little bit cleaner! But to be honest, if it was spotless, I'd be thinking I was ill! My desk even when I was at school was always a mess. I'm a huge culprit of racing in when my girls are asleep, making something and leaving the mess for another time and that other time just never happens! lol  Goofy How many other ppl are like that!??!

Anyway, enuf chat, here's the 2 cards I've made, I've actually used the star from the Christmas Classics stamp set and the "happy birthday" is from retired set.

Then I liked the layout so much, I did one with a different base colour - Garden Green instead of Pacific Point.

And seeing as its kinda cheating to show 2 cards of the same design, here's a 3rd card for you...

See the little frame around the bird - that's 1 from a free stamp set you could earn during Sale-a-bration! Come back on 25th January to view a copy of the Sale-a-bration catalogue online! Its very nice!!  Roll

Wow - 3 posts in 2 days, I hope you didn't fall off your chair in shock!

Hitting the right spot with men's cards

Hi Everyone,

I don't know about you, but I'm nearly always stumped when it comes to men's cards... I just find them challenging as you can't do flowers and make it pretty lol :)

Well in an attempt to overcome this problem I pulled out my Seeing Spots stamp set from the cupboard and made this men's card some time ago... I actually demonstrated it at a recent workshop as part of a focus on layering your card to add extra 'ooomph' and on this card its simply by adding the 3 big spots punched out with the 1.25" punch, raising the centre one on a dimensional and then stamping the background spots on vellum. Easy ways to add extra but without making it girly and just using a simple layout with no fuss.
