Colour Inkspirations #CI25 - Watercolouring and dragonfly dreams

Hi Everyone,

This week I had a play with my Stampin' Up! goodies for the first time this year!

I took part in the Colour Inkspirations Challenge #CI25 and designed these cards with their colour combination:

And then whilst I was there, and the supplies were all out... I went on to make these cards as well.

I've also bought myself a lightbox as I'm often up late crafting and can never get the lighting right for photos (I've always been a big "daylight is better than artificial light' for photography but I may be convinced otherwise for now ;)

Somewhere safe to keep your treasures....

Hi Everyone,

It's every girl's dream to have somewhere safe to keep her treasures... Actually it's probably most grown-up girls dreams too and to have lots of diamonds to keep in the said treasure box.....

I made these 'one of a kind' treasure boxes up with some retired designer series paper, and my Big Shot with the Timeless Type Alphabet, Beautiful Wings and Floral Fusion dies (the leaves have been punched with the bird punch).

The cool thing about these treasure boxes is that they open from the top and have 3 little sections plus a drawer underneath and are a really great size to keep either jewellery or stationery treasures tucked away.

NEW!!! Desktop Caddies

Hi Everyone,

Well, I'm been leaving a few teasers on my facebook page about the fabric I've been cutting out with my scalloped square and Big Shot! It makes cutting the same sized shape very very easy!!

Here's a sample of what I've been making:

The bags had lots of comments on the weekend at The Glades Art and Produce Markets! The desktop caddy (which you can see fits Stampin' Up! inkpads) has been donated to the Pretty Little Things Charity Auction, and you can see all the details for that here.

I've got some more to show you, but that will have to wait for another day... It's self-inflicted school holiday cleaning frenzy here today so I'd better get back to it!

Look what the kids made!!

Hi Everyone,

Last week was my first ever kids class!! And it was so much fun!!

This is my version of what the kids got to make...

They were able to choose what colours they used and the sentiment... Silly me didn't think to take some pics but never mind, the kids did a fabulous job and I hope to arrange another kids' class soon!

If you have some kiddies at home or a party coming up, I would love to come and share some of my "tricks of the trade" with them, please email me for more info.

Another embellishment needing a home...

Hi Everyone,

Last night in my post, I was talking about all the punch art owls I've made that are looking for a home... Well here's something else I've made that also needs a new home...

Large Die Cut Felt Circles

Small Die Cut Felt Circles

One of my missions this winter is to learn how to crochet so I can make some beanies for these embellishments to be added to... Anyone have any other suggestions or an easy to follow crocheted beanie pattern?

What we made at the April Class

Hi Everyone,

Did you think I'd forgotten you all? No of course I didn't! I've been busy behind the scenes lately and also my internet has been playing up!!

I've been doing some more sorting out of my craft space, just a tweak here and there in the room that was formerly our loungeroom. I really should take some pics to show you shouldn't I. Well that might be on the cards (get it? :P) for today.... If the light is ok, it's looking like another wet, rainy day here in Perth - LOVELY crafting weather, shame the 2 and 4yo don't understand that fully just yet!!

Now I realised the other day that I have to show you what we made at the April Class and tomorrow I'll show you what we made at the May Class.

Ok, so here's what we made in April, it was my Mother's Day class:

(I made a co-ordinating card and sent an album off to my ESAD Easter Secret Sister, I hope she liked it!)

I followed a tutorial from splitcoast stampers for building album.

The papers are from the current Stampin' Up! Catalogue and are called "Love Letter", and the colours are Riding hood red, basic black and very vanilla. All the butterflies have been cut with my Beautiful Wings die and my Big Shot!

My latest project!

Hi Everyone,

I haven't been stamping very much this week, and this is my reason: I have started playing with fabric and my big shot!! Ohh la la it makes cutting fabric so easy, I have only tried the scallop square die so far, but loved it!

Well, enough of my yabbering, this is my first attempt at a scallop square bag:

Front View

I added a little pocket at each end
I still need to add in a clasp or loop at the top, any suggestions? At the moment I'm thinking a big hot pink button with a fabric loop....

I have a 2nd bag half ready to go but I needed to make some more mother's day cards today, so the sewing machine had to be packed away. Hopefully over the next couple of days, I will get that one finished too! :)

Oh and this is going to be my entry for the ESAD 3D challenge this week. If you are a Stampin' Up! demo in Australia or New Zealand, make sure you join ESAD, it's an invaluable source of chatter and information :)

JAI #65

Hi Everyone,

It's been a long time since I've taken part in a Just Add Ink Challenge but here's a quick post with this week's challenge to "Just Add Mateship/ Friendship".

There's a mixture of old and new Stampin' Up! Products used and a touch of contraband product, (I used my nest-a-bilities for the plain and scalloped ovals).

But it does showcase how verstaile the Big Shot is! The square lattice embossing folder has been used for the background. The Beautiful Wings embosslits die for the butterflies - this cuts 5 butterflies in 1 go! And yes, the nesties went through the Big Shot too!

Finally a card...

Hi Everyone,

As promised I'm back today with a card to show you, I'm on a new years resolution to use up some more scraps of paper and card, and some of the many stamped images I have lying around :)

I coloured this flower yesterday with my Riding Hood Red, Barely Banana (retired) and Wild Wasabi Inkpads. Then I ran it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.

The black 'stitching' has been paper pierced and then drawn on freehand with my Black Stampin' Write Markers.

And I just love my antique brad pinning down a little bit of white ribbon!!

Yep, another Kimono Kid

Hi All,

Yep, I'm sorry, here's another card with a Kimono Kid stamp! Don't worry, I only stamped about a dozen of them so I will run out of the to colour and use soon.... hehhehe

Well, this ribbon I've had for so long in my stash... I'm a real ribbon hoarder and bought a pack of asian inspired ribbons that I've never used! They are even self adhesive, so all I need to do is cut, peel and stick - pretty lazy of me hey!

Ok, enough chitchat, I bet you'd really like to see my card by now so here it is:

Extra detail has been added with the Polka Dot embossing folder and my Big Shot, the background stamp 'Medallion', and the corner rounder punch.

And to avoid it being so long between posts, I'm setting up some scheduled posts of some of the cards I've made lately... There's not as many as I'd like but then, who really has all the time they would like for stamping, crafting or any other hobby... lol :)
